The Consumer Products Safety Commission has announced the recall of a potentially dangerous product which could cause a serious personal injury by overheating and catching on fire. The recall was announced February 26, 2013.

The Ryobi Cordless Tool Battery Pack can overheat and burst while on the charger, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The Lithium 18v battery packs, with model number P108 and part number 130429028, are green, silver and black, with the words “Ryobi” and “Lithium+18V” printed in white letters on each side. The model and part numbers can be found on the plate located on the bottom of the battery pack.

If you own one of these potentially dangerous battery packs, please contact the manufacturer immediately – One World Technologies, at 800-597-9624. The majority of the units were sold at Home Depot retail stores and via their online website, among some other retail outlets.
