Local personal injury attorney Scot D. Goldberg, Managing Partner of Goldberg, Racila, D'Alessandro & Noone, LLC, has recently been re-appointed to the Board of Directors of SalusCare, Inc.

SalusCare, Inc., was officially formed today when two of Lee County's larger not-for-profit organizations agreed earlier this year to consolidate their efforts to better serve the community. Lee Mental Health Center and Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS) will now be known as SalusCare, Inc., and will operate as a mental health and substance abuse treatment agency for thousands of individuals and families in Lee County.

“I have been proud to serve as a volunteer board member for SWFAS since 2009, and I'm very pleased to announce my continued involvement with this newly-formed entity”, said Goldberg, a Lee County native. “The merger of these two outstanding organizations will only increase the overall effectiveness of their work, and allow their staff to continue helping even more people in Southwest Florida”.

Lee Mental Health Center was the larger of the two non-profits, with a budget of $20 million and 300 employees serving 12,000 patients per year from two locations in Lee County. SWFAS operates with a $9.5 million budget and 150 employees serving 5,000 patients per year from five locations in Lee County and two in Hendry County. The majority of programs offered by both companies are accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

In addition to his work with SalusCare, Inc., Goldberg also serves on the Board of Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc., (CCMI), and is a Guardian Ad Litem and Guardian Ad Litem attorney. Additionally, Goldberg donates his time to the Lee County Moot Court Program, which provides practical, real-life educational scenarios about what happens during a court trial. Goldberg has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Quality of Life Center and the Deaf Services Center, both in Fort Myers.
